A Franklin Square man was arrested for allegedly selling illegal fireworks at a gas station in New Hyde Park.
Officers from the Third Precinct’s Problem Oriented Police (POP) Unit responded to the Valero gas station at 1501 Jericho Turnpike on July 2 around 10:45 a.m. after receiving multiple complaints about fireworks possibly being sold at the location.
Following an investigation, officers discovered illegal fireworks on display inside the store. The employee, identified as Inder Singh, 52, of 207 Catherine Avenue, was arrested without incident.
Singh is charged with unlawfully selling fireworks and is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Hempstead on August 6.
