A Franklin Square man has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl at a store in Garden City.
21-year-old Riken Acharya was at a Sephora located at 630 Old Country Road on June 17 around 5:54 p.m. when he allegedly touched the young victim inappropriately. Authorities say Acharya fled the scene immediately thereafter.
Responding officers located Acharya nearby and arrested him without incident.
Acharya is charged with Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor. He is scheduled to be arraigned on June 18 at First District Court in Hempstead.
