Fifth Teen Arrested for Brightwaters Stabbing

A fifth teenager has been arrested for his alleged role in a stabbing that took place in Brightwaters last month.

A 911 caller reported a teenager had been stabbed during a fight between a group of youths in the rear parking lot of 169 Orinoco Drive on November 19 at 8:55 p.m. When police arrived, they found the victim with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.  

Following an investigation by Third Squad detectives, a 17-year-old male was arrested at his home. He was charged with Gang Assault in the Second Degree.

Nearly a month later, Suffolk County police arrested three more teenagers for their alleged roles in the crime. One 16-year-old male and one 17-year-old male, both from Bay Shore, were arrested on December 9 and charged with Gang Assault in the Second Degree. They were arraigned at the Youth Part of First District Court in Central Islip on December 10.

A 15-year-old male from Bay Shore was arrested on December 10 and charged with Gang Assault in the First Degree and Assault in the First Degree. He was held overnight at a juvenile facility in Nassau County for arraignment at the Youth Part of First District Court in Central Islip on December 11.

Another arrest was made on December 16, when police arrested a 15-year-old was picked up and charged with Gang Assault in the Second Degree. He was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled for arraignment at Family Court on  December 29.

The arrestees’ names were not released due to their ages.
