
Suffolk County Police arrested a man for robbing an Apple Store and threatening an employee in Lake Grove.
Joseph Zavesky entered Apple Smith Haven, located at 516 Smith Haven Mall, on September 5 at approximately noon. He then allegedly used a snipping tool to cut security cables and stole two iPhone 15s. When confronted by a store employee, Zavesky allegedly raised a hammer and threatened the employee before fleeing on foot.
Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives and Fourth Precinct Investigative Unit officers, with assistance from Southampton Town Police, Zavesky was located and arrested at a hotel in Bellport on September 7 at 1:25 a.m.
Zavesky, 32, of 4 Private Road, Eastport, was charged with Robbery in the First Degree. He was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 7.
