Suffolk County police arrested a Deer Park man for possessing child pornography.
Following tips from the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Suffolk County Police Digital Forensics Unit detectives conducted an investigation into Joseph Kirincic. With the assistance of First Precinct officers, a search warrant was executed at Kirincic’s home, located at 50 East 6th St.
Police discovered that Kirincic had child pornography on his cellphone and was exchanging child sexual abuse material through a messaging application. He was arrested at his home on August 20 at 3 p.m.
Kirincic, 51, was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 21.
The investigation is continuing.
