Deer Park Man Arrested for Alleged $123K Theft

A Deer Park man has been arrested for allegedly making over $123,000 in unauthorized transactions while working at a religious establishment in Roslyn Heights.

A joint investigation between the Nassau County Police Department’s Electronics Squad Fraud and Forgery Section and the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office revealed that, between December 2022 and December 2024, Rami A. Mohamad, 40, of 118 Albany Street, allegedly gained access to Chabad of Roslyn’s business account and initiated 201 unauthorized transactions in the amount of $123,989.37.  Mohamed had been hired in September 2022 by Chabad of Roslyn, located at 75 Powerhouse Road, to perform minor carpentry repairs.

Police charged Mohamad with Grand Larceny in the Second Degree and was arraigned on September 25 at First District Court in Hempstead.
