A Central Islip man was arrested for robbing two banks in August.
Following a traffic stop on September 6, Andre Desvignes was arrested at 1:36 p.m. on Lowell Avenue and Clayton Street in Central Islip.
Desvignes, 56, of 429 Clayton St., was charged with first-degree robbery for robbing a Bank of America, located at 185 Wheeler Road in Central Islip on August 13, and third-degree robbery for robbing a TD Bank, located at 479 Montauk Highway in Bay Shore on August 22.
He was also charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle for driving with a suspended license.
Desvignes was held overnight at the Third Precinct and scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 7.
