Blue Point Man Arrested for Alleged Possession of Child Porn

Suffolk County Police today arrested a Blue Point man for allegedly possessing child pornography and promoting a sexual performance of a child.

Following a tip from the New York State Internet Crime Against Children Task Force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Suffolk County Police Digital Forensics Unit detectives investigated Michael Chiarelli and executed a search warrant at his home, located at 186 Division Ave., at 8:50 a.m. where pornographic images depicting children were found on electronic devices.

Chiarelli, 25, was charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child Under 16, both felonies. He is being held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 10.
