Bellport Teen Arrested for Robbery Spree

A teenager was arrested for allegedly robbing five delivery drivers since February. 

Between February 22 and April 13, a 17-year-old Bellport male allegedly called local restaurants to order food deliveries to several locations in Bellport, Patchogue, and Shirley on five different occasions. Once the driver arrived at the delivery address, the teenager would allegedly steal cash and cell phones from the victim before fleeing the scene. The suspect allegedly showed what appeared to be a handgun during four of the robberies. 

On April 15 at approximately 2:35 p.m., the teenager was arrested at 80 Horseblock Road in Bellport.

He was charged with Robbery in the First Degree for the following incidents:

  • A Chinese food delivery driver was burglarized while delivering to a residence on Montauk Highway in Bellport on February 25 at about 9:00 p.m.
  • A pizza delivery driver was robbed while delivering to a residence on Doane Avenue in Bellport on March 1 at approximately 8:23 p.m.
  • A pizza delivery driver was burglarized while delivering to a residence on Terry Street in Patchogue on March 7 at approximately 10:00 p.m.
  • A pizza delivery driver was robbed while delivering to a residence on Brushwood Drive in Shirley on February 22 at about 8:05 p.m.

The teen was also charged with Robbery in the Second Degree for the following incident:

  • A pizza delivery driver was burglarized while delivering to a residence on Michigan Avenue in Bellport on April 13 at about 8:25 p.m.

The suspect, who has not been named because of his age, was additionally charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree for allegedly stealing a motor vehicle at 700 Patchogue Yaphank Road on February 2 at approximately 8:40 a.m.

He was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned on April 16.
