Suffolk County Police yesterday arrested a man for multiple felonies after he allegedly burglarized an occupied apartment in Sayville.
Douglas Davis allegedly kicked in the front door of an apartment at 15 Greeley Ave., where he was confronted by the residents, a 38-year-old mother and her 16-year-old son, at approximately 4:25 p.m. A brief verbal argument ensued and Davis left the apartment, fleeing on foot northbound on Greeley Avenue. The mother and son were not injured.
Davis saw an unoccupied 2010 Toyota Tacoma running in the driveway of 156 Greeley Ave. He allegedly stole the vehicle and fled westbound on Sunrise Highway. Fifth Precinct Patrol officers located the vehicle on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst and placed Davis in custody. He was allegedly found to be in possession of a loaded 9 mm ghost gun with an extended magazine.
Fifth Squad detectives charged Davis, 24, of 105 West Lane, Sayville, with Burglary in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, and Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree.
He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on February 7.
