2 People Shot during Dispute at Central Islip Apartment Complex

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that seriously injured two  people in Central Islip.  

On June 19 at 4:30 p.m., two groups of people were near the pool at Hawthorne Living, located at 211 Hawthorne Ave., when they had a dispute that turned physical between two people. Someone in the group fired several shots,  striking a 16-year-old boy involved in the physical altercation and a 25-year-old woman who was a bystander. Two parked vehicles and an apartment door were also hit by bullets. The groups dispersed before police arrived.  

The teenager was transported in serious condition to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, and the woman was transported in serious condition to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore.
