A group of puppies have been found abandoned and locked in a plastic cage in East Rockaway.
On February 26, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers received a call about barking dogs. After arriving, officers discovered 14 abandoned puppies in a plastic cage located in an alleyway near Centre Avenue. Officers brought the puppies to the Town of Hempstead Animal Control, where they are being medically evaluated and treated.
The investigation is ongoing.
