The Nassau County Strategic Response Team (SRT) reported an arrest within the confines of the Fifth Precinct.
On January 10 at 10:15 p.m., officers conducted an investigation targeting the sale of flavored vape products being sold at the Smoke Shop located at 774 Hempstead Turnpike. During the investigation, officers observed a large quantity of flavored vape products and assorted Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) products displayed for sale.
As a result of the investigation, police charged Chaitanya Sanapathi, 46, of 30 Plaza Road, Garden City with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, Sale of Restricted Products and Sale of Flavored Products Prohibited. He is scheduled to be arraigned on January 11 at First District Court in Hempstead.
