Patchogue Store Workers Arrested for Selling Flavored Vapes, Pot Possession

Suffolk County Police arrested two people for selling flavored vapes and one person for possessing marijuana during a compliance check of businesses in Patchogue.

On December 13, in response to community complaints, Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers conducted compliance checks at two businesses in Patchogue and found both to be selling flavored vapes.

The following people were arrested and charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree after selling flavored vapes:

• Samantha Venetar, 27 of Central Islip, an employee of Wildboyz Smoke Shop, located at 295 Medford Ave.
• Muhammad Saad, 26, of Selden, an employee of J Mart Smoke Shop, located at 580 Route 112.

Additionally, an employee of Wildboyz Smoke Shop, Sefa Genckurt, 28, of Port Jefferson Station, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Approximately 1,000 vape cartridges from Wildboyz Smoke Shop and 400 vape cartridges from J Mart Smoke Shop were seized.

The Suffolk County Health Department, Town of Brookhaven Code Enforcement and Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal assisted in the investigation.

All three were issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
