Suffolk County Police arrested a man for selling a flavored vape product during a compliance check in Oakdale.
As part of the department’s “Operation Smoke Out,” and numerous community complaints, Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers conducted a check of Oakdale Smoke Shop, located at 1316 Montauk Highway. They were found not in compliance by selling flavored nicotine vape products to an undercover police officer on May 18 at 6:35 p.m.
Sardara Rathaur, 69, of Sayville, an employee of the business, was arrested and charged with sale of flavored vape products, a violation of public health law. He was issued a field appearance ticket and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date. Multiple vape products containing nicotine were seized.
