4 Arrested at Copiague Deli with Illegal Gambling Machines

Suffolk County Police arrested two employees for possessing illegal gambling machines and two patrons for loitering at a Copiague deli.

In response to numerous community complaints, First Precinct Crime Section officers conducted a compliance check at Sabor Latino Deli on February 8 at 4:05 p.m. When police arrived at the deli, located at 1273 Sunrise Highway, they observed patrons gambling on the premises, utilizing illegal gambling machines.

The deli owner, Iris Romero, 44, of Copiague was charged with possession of gambling devices. An employee, 17, was charged with possession of gambling devices, promoting gambling and criminal nuisance.

Two patrons, Ramon Rosario-Perez, 54, of Brooklyn, and Osbin Chincilla-Garcia, 49, of West Babylon, were charged with loitering for the purpose of gambling.

They are all scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
