Suffolk County Police arrested two people for allegedly selling alcohol products to underage people during compliance checks in the Third Precinct.
In response to numerous community complaints, Third Precinct Crime Section officers conducted an investigation into the sale of alcohol to underage people on February 14, during which three businesses were checked for compliance with the law.
The following people were arrested and charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child for selling alcohol to someone under the age of 21.
• Richard Sherman, 69, of Holtsville, an employee of Superstar Beverage, located at 16 Lowell Ave., Islip Terrace
• Zohaib Farooq, 34, of Central Islip, an employee of Bolla Market, located at 3309 Sunrise Highway, Islip Terrace
Sherman and Farooq were both issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
