A female pedestrian was struck by a car as she was crossing the street in Lynrook.
On December 14 at 5:33 p.m., a 46-year-old woman was crossing Sunrise Highway at the intersection of Horton Avenue when she was struck by a 2012 Hyundai being operated by an 18-year-old male.
The victim was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a hospital physician. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
