Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a woman in Middle Island today.
Lilian Jimenez-Rodriguez was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla southbound on Rocky Point Road when a 2025 Kia traveling eastbound on Middle Country Road struck the Corolla at the intersection on February 15 at approximately 12:45 p.m. The Corolla spun and then struck a 2023 Chevrolet traveling northbound on Rocky Point Road.
Jimenez-Rodriguez, 49, of Medford, was transported with serious injuries to Stony Brook University Hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet, Steven Fitch, 47, of Shoreham, and his two passengers were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Kia, Esther Igbeare, 69, of Middle Island, was transported to NYC Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Patchogue with non-life-threatening injuries.
All vehicles were impounded for safety checks. The investigation is continuing.
