A pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Freeport.
On March 14 at 7:49 a.m., a tan 2003 Toyota minivan was traveling on South Main Street, making a left turn onto East Merrick Road when it struck a 60-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing that roadway. The pedestrian sustained serious physical injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where she is in critical condition. The driver remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
