Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a woman was hit and killed by a car at an intersection in Stony Brook.
On December 6, Samantha Cianci was driving a 2025 Volkswagen southbound on Nicolls Road when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway at the intersection of Nesconset Highway at 5:30 p.m.
Police are attempting to identify the pedestrian, who was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The woman is described as a Hispanic female and approximately 30 to 40 years old. Cianci, 27, of Commack, was not injured.
