A two-year-child died after being struck by a car in Babylon Town.
According to New York State Police, on August 10 at approximately 2:43 p.m., a two-year-old was struck by a 2016 Acura at Belmont Lake State Park in the North parking lot.
The operator of the vehicle involved in the incident immediately contacted 911 and remained on scene to cooperate fully with investigators. Following a thorough investigation, State Police have determined that there is no criminal wrongdoing involved in this tragic event.
“We are deeply saddened to confirm that the child succumbed to their injuries,” New York State Police Troop L said in a statement.
Citing “the sensitive nature of the incident, as well as the age of the victim,” the agency said it will not release any more details of the incident.
