Two Injured In Yaphank Car Crash

Suffolk County officers are investigating a car crash that severely injured a woman in Yaphank.

On March 24 at approximately 12:49 p.m., Kenneth Zaleski, 62, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer west in the right lane of the Long Island Expressway near exit 67 when he tried to move to the center lane and hit a 2012 Dodge Ram being driven in the same direction by Tafe Phillip, 30. The impact forced the Chevrolet into the guardrail.

A passenger in the Chevrolet, Jamie Nietupski, 33, of East Patchogue, was brought by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of severe but non-fatal injuries. Zaleski, of East Patchogue, was brought to the same hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries. Phillip, of Bohemia, was not injured.
