State Police Arrest 2 for DWI with Children in the Car

The New York State Police made a total of 29 arrests for Driving While Intoxicated from August 23 to August 25. Out of the 29 arrests, two were Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the car.

On August 25, at approximately 2:32 a.m., New York State Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of the westbound Southern State Parkway near exit 22S. Elder Corea Rodriguez, age 31 of West Hempstead, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with his five-year-old child. Rodriguez was charged with Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense (an unclassified misdemeanor), aggravated DWI with Child 1st Offense (a Class E Felony) and endangering the welfare of a child (a Class A misdemeanor) ,along with traffic infractions.

On August 2, at approximately 2:00 a.m., New York State Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of the westbound Southern State Parkway east of Exit 20N. Madelin Ramirez Aracena, age 28 of Hempstead, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with her two daughters, ages six and seven. Ramirez Aracena was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (an unclassified misdemeanor), DWI 1st offense (an unclassified misdemeanor), aggravated DWI with child 1st Offense (a Class E Felony),and endangering the welfare of a child (a Class A Misdemeanor), along with traffic infractions.
