
The Suffolk County Police Department arrested three motorists during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue.
Police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department’s Highway SAFE-T Team (Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team) conducted a sobriety checkpoint operation at Waverly Plaza, located at 371 North Service Road, from November 27 at 11 p.m. to November 28 at 2 a.m. The checkpoint was part of an ongoing Thanksgiving holiday enforcement crackdown targeting alcohol and drug impaired driving. A total of 377 vehicles went through the checkpoint.
The following people were charged with Driving While Intoxicated:
• Jessica Vanegas, 39, of 1329 Manatuck Blvd., Bay Shore
• Kasian Kader Masthan, 37, of 31 Wright Ave., Deer Park
• Jeffrey Sanchez Alvarenga, 23, of 34 Van Buren St., Brentwood
The arrestees were scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 28.
