
A Shirley man who had an outstanding warrant with U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been arrested after allegedly getting involved in a road rage incident in Baldwin.
On October 1 at 5:55 p.m., two motorists allegedly became engaged in a road rage incident in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and Milburn Avenue. A male subject in a Toyota Pickup allegedly had a verbal argument with an 18-year-old driver. The argument escalated and the subject allegedly intentionally collided with the rear of the victim’s sedan. Both vehicles pulled over and the subject became irate, striking the victim’s vehicle with a closed fist multiple times before fleeing the scene.
A short time later, Nassau County police located Alfredo Ushpa Ortiz, 30, of 12 Hounslow Road and placed him into custody without incident.
Subsequent to the investigation, it was determined that Ushpa Ortiz has an outstanding Warrant of Removal pending with ICE.
Police charged Ushpa Ortiz with two counts of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. He was released on an Appearance Ticket and taken into custody by ICE.
