Nassau County detectives from the Homicide Squad are investigating a hit-and-run incident that took place in North Lawrence.
On December 20 at 7:35 p.m., a 62-year-old female was crossing Burnside Avenue in the vicinity of Washington Place when she was struck by a dark-colored SUV being operated by an unknown person. The vehicle then fled the scene westbound on Burnside Avenue.
The pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital, where she is currently listed in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
