Nassau County police have identified the victim of a hit-and-run in Uniondale that led to an arrest.
On January 3 at 3:19 p.m., a male pedestrian was struck by a 2009 Jeep Wrangler while attempting to cross Maple Avenue at the intersection of Hempstead Boulevard. The victim suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The operator of the Jeep Wrangler fled the scene.
The victim has been identified as Cross Kim Young, 75, of Uniondale.
Subsequent to the investigation, a short time later, police located Cesar Manzo, 71, of 859 Goodrich Street and placed him under arrest.
Police charged Manzo with Leaving the Scene of an Incident – Death. He was arraigned on January 4 at First District Court in Hempstead.
