A 53-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car in Wantagh.
On March 9 at 5:22 p.m., a 57-year-old male was operating a 2025 GMC pickup truck westbound on Lufberry Avenue. While turning southbound onto Briard Street, struck a female pedestrian. She was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead by hospital staff. The victim was identified as Elena Crowley.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
