A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Hicksville.
On November 22 at 7:34 p.m., Orlando Yanes, 45 of Hicksville, was struck by a 2021 Toyota Rav 4 traveling southbound on Jerusalem Avenue, while he was attempting to cross Jerusalem Avenue in the vicinity of Gem Court. He suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead by a medic at the scene.
The female driver, 32, remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
