Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in East Patchogue.
On January 3, Yvonne Balbucacuji was driving a 2012 Nissan southbound on Route 112, near Sycamore Street, when the vehicle struck a pedestrian at 10:45 p.m. The pedestrian, Deshawn Parrish, 30, of Medford, was pronounced dead at the scene. Balbucacuji, 22, of Patchogue, was not injured.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
