Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Commack today.
Maria Deluca was driving a 2020 Mercedes-Benz northbound in the parking lot of T.J. Maxx, located at 5020 Jericho Turnpike, when she made a left turn and struck an elderly woman on July 19 at 1:59 p.m. The woman, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries.
Deluca, 63, of Dix Hills, was not injured.
The Mercedes-Benz was impounded for a safety check.
