Pedestrian Fatality in Long Beach

A man hs died after trying to cross the street in Long Beach.

On January 11 at 5:23 p.m., a 77-year-old male pedestrian was crossing W. Park Avenue southbound when he was struck by a blue 2019 BMW SUV traveling eastbound on W. Park Avenue being operated by a 58-year-old male. The male victim suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician. No other injuries were reported.

The driver remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
