Nassau County detectives with the Homicide Squad are investigating a fatal vehicular accident involving a pedestrian in Garden City Park.
On February 16 at 8:44 p.m., a 56-year-old male pedestrian was crossing Jericho Turnpike northbound in the vicinity of Nassau Boulevard when he was struck by a 2020 grey Honda SUV traveling westbound on Jericho Turnpike being operated by a 59-year-old male.
The male victim suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician. No other injuries were reported.
The driver remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
