A man is dead after being struck by a car in North Long Beach.
On August 16 at 8:52 p.m., a 42-year-old man was crossing Austin Boulevard at the intersection of Saratoga Boulevard when he was struck by a 2001 Mercedes being operated by a 27-year-old man southbound on Austin Boulevard. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Nassau County Homicide Squad detectives say the investigation is ongoing.
