
Two cars collided in Inwood, resulting in one of the cars being on fire.
On July 27 at 4:18 a.m., Nassau County Fourth Precinct officers responded to a car fire at Nassau Expressway and Burnside Avenue. When they arrived, they discovered that a two-car, head-on collision had occurred involving a 2012 Sprinter van and a 2016 Honda four-door sedan.
The van was traveling northbound on Nassau Expressway and had one occupant who was transported to a local hospital by Inwood Fire Department for non-serious injuries. The Honda was traveling southbound on Nassau Expressway and had three occupants. Two occupants sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital by separate Nassau County Police Department ambulances. The third occupant sustained non-serious injuries and was transported by FDNY ambulance to a local hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
