A Huntington Station man was arrested for allegedly damaging a car during a road rage incident in Melville.

On February 15 at about 2:20 p.m., Jason Otero-Savage was driving a 2022 Tesla T3 south on Walt Whitman Road, near the Northern State Parkway entrance ramp, when he allegedly cut ahead of a 2017 Chevrolet Impala and stopped short. Otero-Savage, 18, and two male passengers of the Tesla got out of the car. One passenger watched while Otero-Savage and the other passenger allegedly punched and kicked the Chevrolet, causing massive damage. The three then went back into the Tesla and left the scene, heading south.

After an investigation from Suffolk detectives, Otero-Savage, 18, of 14 Grayley Place, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree. He was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court on February 26.
