Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man in Lake Ronkonkoma.
On January 25, Joseph McKeegan was driving a 2007 BMW 335 sedan westbound on Portion Road from the intersection of Ronkonkoma Avenue, when he lost control of the vehicle, which crossed over the eastbound lanes, left the roadway, and crashed into a utility pole at 2:36 a.m.
McKeegan, 20, of Holbrook, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
