A Hempstead man was injured when he was hit by a car while trying to cross the street in Bay Shore.
Baron Anderson was crossing Pine Aire Drive, near Corbin Avenue, when he was struck by a 2025 Mack truck, driven by Carlos Riccardo Perez Brenes, at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Anderson, 58, of Hempstead, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries. Perez Brenes, 43, of New Jersey, was not injured.
Officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Section responded to inspect the vehicle.
