Brooklyn Man Arrested after Crashing Stolen Car

Nassau County Second Squad officers arrested a Brooklyn man for an incident that occurred  in Hicksville.

On May 16 at 11:45 a.m., officers responded to AAAA-1 Towing located at 34 Charlotte Avenue for an auto accident. Upon police arrival, they observed a stolen Black 2023 Dodge Durango had struck a utility pole and the driver fled the scene.

After the investigation, Christopher Gilbert, 28, of 1280 Saint Johns Place was located nearby and placed under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.

Gilbert is charged with second-degree grand larceny, third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He will be arraigned on May 17 at First District Court in Hempstead.
