Bronx Man Arrested for Road Rage Incident at Mall Parking Lot

A Bronx man was arrested for a road rage incident that happened at a parking lot in an East Garden City mall.

On April 4 at 7:05 p.m., Third Precinct officers responded to the Roosevelt Field Mall parking lot located at 630 Old Country Road for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were informed that an unknown male operating a Black Honda Pilot was allegedly engaged in a road rage incident with a 17-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman. The unknown male then allegedly pointed a black firearm at the male victim before driving westbound on Old Country Road. The victim immediately notified police.

After a thorough investigation, officers located the defendant Winston Merrick, 45 of 100 Caslas Place and placed him under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported. A black loaded Glock 26 firearm was recovered.

Police charged Merrick with two counts of second-degree menacing and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was scheduled to be arraigned on April 5 in First District Court in Hempstead.
