Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed two people in Ronkonkoma.
Walter Jakubowski, 83, was driving a Subaru Forester westbound on Peconic Street when the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane, left the roadway and struck a tree at 11:20 a.m.
Jakubowski and his wife, Margaret Jakubowski, 75, both of Ronkonkoma, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
