New York State Troopers are looking into what caused a vehicle to roll over that killed two people and injured three others.
On August 1 at approximately 1:59 a.m., troopers responded to the Southern State Parkway eastbound at exit 43A in the town of Islip for a report of a vehicle rollover. Upon arrival, they saw that a tan 2010 Toyota Prius overturned and was resting on the shoulder in the tree line.
The driver, Oliver Charles, age 18, of Deer Park, and a passenger, Dymond A. Saunders, age 17, of West Babylon, were both pronounced dead by paramedics. Three additional passengers were taken to local hospitals and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident is under investigation and the State Police are asking for any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident to call (631) 756-3300.
