To the Editor:
As a former responsible official, I’m surprised and disappointed (“After Utah Gov.’s Speech, We Must Now Expose Marxist Violence,” September 16, 2025).
You seem to delight in parroting right-wing talking points. So I need to ask: Was the shooter at the Tree of Life Synagogue a Marxist? Was the assassin of the Minnesota legislators Marxist? Was the attacker of Pelosi’s husband a Marxist? Was the assassin at Emanuel Church in South Carolina a Marxist?
Finally, were the people who attacked the Capitol in service of Donald J. Trump on January 6, 2021 Marxists?
Perhaps it’s time to tone back the inflammatory rhetoric and look for commonality instead of divisive rhetoric.
