The Long Island Association (LIA) and the HIA-LI announced their first-ever event collaboration with the Long Island Artificial Intelligence Conference to be held at Long Island University’s Tilles Center on April 3, 2024. The goal of the conference is to bring businesses, entrepreneurs, academia, not-for-profit organizations, and government officials together to discuss how our region can play a leading role in the development and implementation of AI technologies.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Radhika Dirks, a visionary in the artificial intelligence field Dr. Dirks is a global AI expert and advisor, consulting with Fortune 100 companies, international organizations, and startups. She is the CEO and founder of XLabs and is listed as one of Forbes‘ Women to Watch in AI. At XLabs, she boosts AI innovations with far-reaching impacts, including advances towards curing cancer. Her groundbreaking work at Ribo AI identified potential cures for 11 types of cancer in just 18 months.
At Seldn, an AI startup she co-founded, she led the development of predictive technologies that accurately predicted the rise of ISIS two weeks before The New York Times coined the term. Dr. Dirks was also a founding member of Shell’s $1.5 billion venture capital group. She holds a Ph.D. in Quantum Computing and an M.S. in Nanotechnology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The conference will begin at 12:00 p.m. with a networking lunch followed by the keynote session at 1:00 p.m. and topical breakout sessions from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Accelerate Long Island, a not-for-profit organization that focuses on supporting the growth of startups and commercializing research from Long Island’s world class academic institutions, is also partnering on the event.
