Three men were arrested for their roles in a robbery at Manhasset department store.
On Wednesday, June 12th, the Nassau County Sixth Squad arrested Qualiyah Shubrick-Shurley, 20, Scott Clayton, 31, and Samuel Battle, 20, for a robbery that occurred at Macy’s Department Store, located at 1100 Northern Boulevard.
Shubrick-Shurley, Clayton, and Battle were observed concealing merchandise and threatening to physically harm store employees. When police arrived, Battle was placed under arrest. Subsequently, Clayton and Shubrick-Shurley were placed into custody in the department store’s parking lot.
Upon further investigation, Shubrick-Shurley and Clayton were found to be in possession of stolen credit cards, and all three defendants were connected to two other larcenies up the street at Marshalls and Nordstrom Rack, both of which occurred earlier that day. Police also determined Clayton and Battle were responsible for a larceny that took place on June 4th, at DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse.
Leaving a trail of larcenies behind while making their way down Northern Boulevard has resulted in all three perpetrators being charged with robbery and petty larceny. The further charges are as follows.
Shubrick-Shurley was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, and obstructing governmental administration
Clayton was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, burglary, grand larceny, and criminal possession of anti-security items
Battle was charged with Grand Larceny
The arraignment will take place on June 13th at the First District Court in Hempstead.
