Nassau County police officers responded to a domestic disturbance incident in North Lawrence.
Ronald E. Bellamy, 25, of 1725 Village Lane was involved in a verbal argument with a female victim, 24, at the 5 Towns Shopping Center located at 253-01 Rockaway Turnpike that escalated to a physical altercation, resulting in Bellamy striking the victim in the face and forcefully taking her iPhone and pocketbook before fleeing scene.
Officers were able to locate Bellamy and put him into custody.
Bellamy was charged with third-degree robbery, second-degree harassment, fourth-degree grand larceny and two counts of first-degree criminal contempt. He was arraigned on May 29 at First District Court in Hempstead.
