A compliance check at a Deer Park smoke shop resulted in an arrest being made for the sale of flavored vape to an underaged person.
On May 1 at approximately 3:45 p.m., Dharmesh Patel, 31, of Hicksville an employee of Island Mini Mart located at 544 Commack Road, sold a strawberry watermelon vape to an undercover agent who was under the age of 21. Patel was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child, and Sale of Flavored Vape Products, a public health law violation.A large quantity of flavored vape products were also seized from the store.
He was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
