If you want to know one of the reasons why the world is in turmoil Iran and its nefarious allies continue to gain strength, look no further than the recent Newsday editorial on the Middle East conflict.

The editorial correctly lays out the fact that the tensions in the Middle East is a continuation of the Cold War, where Iran has joined forces with the totalitarian nations of China and Russia, while Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia are in the West’s camp. The editorial goes on to rightly note that much of the disturbance within the area emanates from Iran‘s funding of its proxies. But, then, the editorial falls off the rails.
It notes: “Fortunately, the whole Middle East crisis does not seem to have shaken the oil markets… President Joe Biden is viewed as unlikely to ratchet up sanctions on Iranian crude oil lest it spikes oil prices. That much is wise.… Only a painstaking diplomatic effort can leverage steps toward peace, justice and freedom of trade.”
It is simply crazy to say that President Biden has been wise in not imposing more sanctions on Iran.
It was his easing of sanctions when he took office that led to the mullahs of Iran gaining billions of dollars through the oil trade, thereby emboldening the terrorist activities emanating from Iran and their proxies.
The editorial makes it seem as though there’s no alternative but to play footsie with the Iranians or oil prices will go up.
There’s another very obvious way to go. The administration can stop declaring war on our own energy production to placate the environmental extremists, the “Squad” and the progressive flank of the Democratic Party.
Biden banned a tremendous amount of drilling and oil and gas exploration right here in America. Our nation has more reserves than anywhere in the world, and yet, Biden has shut off huge swaths of our own nation’s exploration in favor of asking our political enemies to drill more to keep the price of oil down. How maddeningly crazy!
It’s not as though the world is using less oil. It’s simply shifted to harvesting the oil from right here in the United States that would bolster our economy, to instead having the U.S. beg our enemies to produce more so that oil prices will not go up. None of this has been lowering the world’s carbon footprint. It’s just been making America poorer and Iran, Russia, and our other enemies stronger.
We get it that Biden would cave to the leftist extremists in his party for a short-term political gain, but we don’t understand why media outlets would be supportive of this lunacy.
