Suffolk County police arrested two smoke shop employees for selling marijuana products, vapes, and E-cigarettes to minors.
In response to community complaints, officers from the Sixth Precinct Crime Section along with members of the Suffolk County Department of Health — Tobacco Enforcement conducted an investigation into two Selden businesses for the sale of marijuana products and e-liquid nicotine. The investigation resulted in Laljibhai Chaudhari Jayesh Kumar, 62, of Ronkonkoma, and Ebaab Alisyed, 22, of Mt. Sinai, being arrested on August 8.
Jayesh Kumar, an employee of Smoke Shop, located at 317 Middle Country Road, was charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child. Officers also seized more than 1,200 flavored vape products from the business. Alisyed, an employee of Selden Smoke Shop, located at 1245 Middle Country Road, was also charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and also with third-degree criminal sale of cannabis. More than 1,800 flavored vape products and more than 700 cannabis products were seized from his business.
Both were released on a desk appearance ticket and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
